Most are guiltless, but there have been pedophile priests and nuns too. I'm so glad the Church is responding to criminal priests differently now. I wish it had been done sooner, though. How could the bishops ever reassign an offender to a parish with kids?!

I know that the clergy is supposed to forgive those who are penitent, but in this case, no. In this case, the risk outweighs the policy of absolving the contrite sinner. Maybe it's just that they couldn't or wouldn't understnad that sexual desires never vanish. They cannot be willed away, regardless of of how determined the offender is to be good.

Pedophiles go where the kids are, and where they have complete trust by the parents of those kids. Coaches, teacher, priests, etc.

The Roman Catholic Church doesn't create pedophiles. It doesn't, but it has harbored them. It has made sexual offenses on kids continue in several cases.

I'm Catholic. My parents are Catholic. I love the Church.
