Like the Right to Vote or the Right to Bear Arms..

Everyone should enjoy this civil right. Someday, everyone will. Right now, full citizenship and full civil rights can be witheld from you if you are not heterosexual. There are only a few exception so far, based on which state you are in.

Marriage has the value that we give to it. For ages, involuntary marriages have ocurred. Still do. Every day.

Marriages can be cancelled at the convenience of all married people in the US. It's a lucrative industry in all corners of our country, much like the wedding industry.

Convicts in maximum security prisons can get married and do. We allow it. It is a fundamental right, after all. This isn't new.

There needn't be any love for two people to be wed. It's been this way since...forever! They're called arranged marriages.

How can marriage be considered Holy Matrimony given all of these facts? I am perplexed.

It is a mystifying phenomenon.
